Experience NIU–Alumni Paddle Picnic at the East Lagoon - CANCELED

Join the NIU Alumni Association, NIU Recreation and NIU mascot Mission on Thursday, July 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for a family-friendly paddle picnic at the East Lagoon on NIU's DeKalb campus!

Experience the fun of paddling on the East Lagoon, which has been revived as a recreation treasure. For over 35 years, Outdoor Adventures, a program within the NIU Recreation department, has provided outdoor recreation experiences for NIU students, faculty and staff, as well as services to the general public.

Outdoor Adventures will be providing instruction and equipment for an evening of fun at the scenic East Lagoon. There will be kayaks, canoes and standup paddleboards available, as well as sports equipment and yard games, such as bags and spike ball.

Tickets for this event are $15 ($20 walk-in) for adults and $10 for children who are 10-17 years old ($15 walk-in), while Kids under the age 10 are free. Your ticket includes the use of all Outdoor Adventures equipment as well as a picnic buffet from Wild Carrot Cooking Co..
