The Perfect Blend: A Croatian Wine and History Pairing

Join us, your fellow Huskies and the Alumni Association Travel Program LLC, in The Club Room at Hy-Vee in Sycamore, Illinois for an evening exploring the rich, diverse and unique culture, history and wine of Croatia!

While you may be familiar with the stunning landscapes and beautiful beaches of this Adriatic gem from the hit show “Game of Thrones,” you may not be aware of the fascinating history and cultural heritage of Croatia, which is home to numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Hear from Valerie Garver, Ph.D., chair of the history department at NIU, as she provides a short informative presentation on Croatian history. Following her presentation, wine distributor Alan Doughty will pour tastings of six Croatian wines, provided by Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits, compliments of Gus Guevara.
