Huskie Football Team

The NIU Huskie football team took time away from the GoDaddy.com bowl festivities to visit children in the USA Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Mobile, Alabama.
 

While handing out stuffed NIU Huskie toys and signing posters, players brought smiles to children confined to the hospital.

Coach Dave Doeren: We’re trying to make a difference and pay it forward. It’s an opportunity for all of us to realize how lucky we are. So it’s a great day probably as much as it is for the kids laying in the beds as it is for our players.

Rashaan Melvin: It’s always great to have kids smiling. It’s a blessing for us to give back to our communities both as football players and grown men in life.

Tommy Davis: Just seeing how happy those kids were when we came in the room means a lot. I’m happy we got a chance to come. Jordan Lynch: We have an opportunity to play football and we take that for granted. A lot of kids in here would do anything to be out on the field or even outside playing. This is the highlight of my trip.
