Huskies Night Out: Discover the Art of Burma - CANCELED
Friday, Feb. 20
Get ready for an unforgettable Huskie Night Out! Join fellow alumni and friends for an exclusive, curator-led journey into Legacies on Display: The Forbidden and Venerated Arts of Burma. Whether you bring a date, a friend, or fly solo, this evening is designed for great conversation, good food, and one-of-a-kind experiences.
The night begins at Ellington’s Restaurant with a delicious plated dinner and a complimentary beverage. Then, enjoy a special after-hours tour at the NIU Art Museum, where our curator will guide you through the stunning and diverse works of the Burma Art Collection.
Step into the rich world of Burmese arts and culture as you explore sacred ivory carvings, rare silver repoussé pieces on public display for the first time, and contemporary paintings grappling with protest, resilience and modern identity.
All of this—set within the historic charm of Altgeld Hall—makes for a culture-filled night you won’t want to miss.
Reserve your spot and experience the artistry, history, and spirit of Burma through NIU’s extraordinary collection!
