Huskies Night Out: Huskie Harvest

A promotional banner for an NIU event features a sign reading “The Pack Has Your Back!” encouraging students, faculty, staff, and guests to grab a free meal. At the center, several people wearing aprons stand together in a kitchen setting beneath a “Huskie Harvest – Free Sustainable Meals” graph

Friday, April 24

Join us at Ellington’s Restaurant in the Holmes Student Center on Friday, April 24, at 5:30 p.m. for a buffet dinner with a complimentary beverage, followed by an evening of inspiration, community, and hands‑on service supporting Huskie Harvest.

Huskie Harvest is transforming how universities combat food insecurity and food waste. Open to anyone in need — even just in the moment — the program ensures no student has to choose between nourishment and their future.

Hear from Nancy Prange, M.S. ’97, M.P.H. ’21, Ed.D. ’21, founder of Huskie Harvest, as she shares the story behind this innovative initiative. Then roll up your sleeves and help pack meals that support Huskies across campus.

Come with a date, a friend, or simply yourself — and enjoy a meaningful Huskies Night Out!
