Educator in Residence Keynote Address: Denise Bunning

Denise Bunning, M.S.Ed. '89, has been named the NIU College of Education's Educator in Residence for Spring 2019, and she will give her keynote address, "Food Allergies for Huskies," on Thursday, April 11.
Bunning is an educator, support group leader and advocate who works to improve the lives of children with food allergies. She co-founded MOCHA (Mothers of Children Having Allergies) – a support group for food-allergic families. She serves on the board of governors for Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), the founders’ board of Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, and the women’s board of Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital.

Bunning will also receive the Alumni Achievement in Public Service Award during the NIU Alumni Association Alumni Award Luncheon the following day, April 12.
